Q: What led you into your chosen profession?
A: Initially I started work in public libraries. At 16 I thought the work sounded more interesting and diverse compared to office work/bank work/a career with the Civil Service. I began working for Liverpool City Libraries and became hooked! I have since worked in special libraries, school libraries, and the higher education sector.
Q: What book are you reading right now?
A: I am reading Working with your Chakras by Ruth White.
Q: Who do you admire the most (past or present) and why?
A: I admire pople like Dr Catherine Hamlin and her late husband - people who dedicate their whole lives to a worthy cause. They worked in Addis Ababa helping Fistula women. They initially opened a clinic and later a hospital which has continued to expand.
Q: What was the first and last music record you bought?
A: The first record I bought was 'This is Soul' (various artists) and the last was the Scissor Sisters.
Q: If you could have any career other than your chosen profession, what would you choose?
A: To be involved in conservation/environmental work.
Q: If you could have dinner with any 3 people, past or present, who would they be?
A: Germaine Greer, Eddie Izzard and Derren Brown.
Q: Money no option, where would you like to go on vacation?
A: Canada, but I would have to fly first class.
