Q: Why did you decide to become a librarian?
A: Before I became a librarian I was an English teacher. I loved bringing kids and books together. It was the best part of the job for me. I also
started a small library from the ground up and found that so satisfying that I went out and got my MLS at Syracuse University.
Q: What book are you reading right now?
A: Pope Joan by Donna Woolfolk Cross. Super!
Q: Who do you admire the most (past or present) and why?
A: I've always admired Eleanor Roosevelt for her independent spirit, her common sense, and for the great good she did throughout her life especially for women and children.
Q: What was the first and last music record you bought?
A: If you really mean "record", it was probably a 45 rpm of a crazy song called The Purple People Eater! The last record was probably Faure's Requiem.
Q: If you could have any career other than your chosen profession, what would you choose?
A: This is really dreaming because my keyboard skills are pretty sad, but I've always said that in another life I'd like to play a pipe organ.
Q: If you could have dinner with any 3 people, past or present, who would they be?
A: Julia Child, an ancestor of mine from Yorkshire who could clue me in about other ancestors and my maternal grandfather whom I only knew as a child.
Q: Money no option, where would you like to go on vacation?
A: Every part of Scandinavia.
