Q: What led you into your chosen profession?

A: Dumb luck. I took a library technician position to get away from a job I hated, and found that I liked working in a library. I liked it so much that when I was able, I went back to school for my Master's in Library Science so I could be a 'real librarian'.

Q: What book are you reading right now?

A: If you count audio books, I'm reading three right now. I have Janet Evanovich's Plum Lucky at work to read on lunch hours and Frank Beddor's The Looking Glass Wars at home for bedtime reading. William Bernhardt's Dark Eye is keeping me entertained on my commute.

Q: Who do you admire the most (past or present) and why?

A: Thomas Edison. He was tireless and incredibly inventive. In his striving for a workable electric light bulb Edison is attributed with saying, 'I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work'. Talk about optimism!

Q: What was the first and last music record you bought?

A: The first was probably a 45 by Elvis. I still love his ballads, but I admit Hound Dog has lost its charm. The most recent was Angel Voices by Libera.

Q: If you could have any career other than your chosen profession, what would you choose?

A: I cannot imagine anything better than being a librarian, but I might like to try something in travel so I could see the world.

Q: If you could have dinner with any three people, past or present, who would they be?

A: Leonardo da Vinci, Ben Franklin, and Linda Bloodworth–Thomason, all very creative people.

Q: Money no option, where would you like to go on vacation?

A: Scotland and Ireland. If I had the time as well as the money, I would see the rest of the British Isles, Europe, and Australia.
