Q: What led you into your chosen profession?

A: Initially a love of reading, but now I enjoy it because I get to meet many different people and you never know what you are going to be asked to find out next.

Q: What book are you reading right now?

A: A Harlot's Progress by David Dabydeen. It is about slavery and is extremely depressing.

Q: Who do you admire the most (past or present) and why?

A: Robert Owen the philanthropist because he radically improved the working conditions for the factory workers of the time and brought to the public's attention the appalling conditions of child workers.

Q: What was the first and last music record you bought?

A: Oh no - how embarrassing! My first record was Benny Hill's Ernie - the fastest milkman in the West and the last was U2's How to dismantle an atom bomb. But hey, why should I be defensive - I happen to think U2 are a great band...

Q: If you could have any career other than your chosen profession, what would you choose?

A: Carpenter. I'd like the feeling of standing back at the end of the day and seeing something I had made.

Q: If you could have dinner with any three people, past or present, who would they be?

A: Yuri Gagarin, first man in space, Michael Collins, Apollo 11 Command Module Pilot and Elizabeth I. And if pets are allowed in the restaurant, Laika the space dog.

Q: Money no option, where would you like to go on vacation?

A: Iceland. I have been once and found the "fire and ice" landscape absolutely amazing.
